STEVE VAI To Perform At Japanese Concerto
May 16, 2002Steve Vai will be performing in Tokyo in July as a featured performer at the world premiere of composer Ichiro Nodaira's Fire Strings, a concerto for electric guitar and 100-piece orchestra. Steve will perform with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, at the prestigious Suntory Hall in Tokyo, on July 24th, July 25th, and July 26th. Other compositions to be performed are Leonard Bernstein's "Candide Overture" and Stravinsky's "Le Sacre du Printemps". According to the guitarist's official web site, "this is a tremendous honor for Steve, as the guitar parts have been previously described as impossible to play, and will surely be a unique and unforgettable performance."
